To think that Jack Kirby just finished creating and drawing Fantastic Four #1 in November of 1961, and then started drawing this issue in December of 1961. It is nicely signed by Dick Ayers and actually has his residence to the right of the signature. I visited Mr. Ayers there many times. He was a very sweet man. I informed him that I had a mid 60’s X-men cover that I owned and he looked it up in his trusty notebook which showed that he was paid $25 at the time for inking that particular cover.
