I believe that this is the first work that Ditko dis immediately after leaving Marvel and his work on Spider-Man. This book was published August 1966 and Spider-Man #38, which was the last book he worked on for Marvel, was published in July of 1966. Notice the distinct Ditko hands in the first panel. Ditko wanted more control over his storytelling and he got it here.
